About Us

East Alabama Ambulatory Surgery Center (EAASC) is a state-of-the art ambulatory surgery center where surgeons from many different specialties perform a variety of outpatient surgical procedures. This center is a joint venture between East Alabama Medical Center and a group of 16 local physicians who perform a variety of surgical procedures in specialties including orthopaedics, ear nose and throat (ENT), plastic surgery, ophthalmology, gastroenterology (GI), and general surgery. With 24,000 square feet, this center offers patients a safe, comfortable and convenient alternative to visiting the hospital for certain outpatient procedures.

The state-of-the-art facility is positioned near Auburn University’s campus on Camp Auburn Road, near the intersection of Shug Jordan Parkway and South College Street. In addition to the EAASC, the Auburn Medical Pavilion houses the East Alabama Medical Center Freestanding Emergency Department, as well as diagnostic radiology services, a women’s breast health center, and a satellite retail pharmacy called East Alabama Apothecary. 

EAASC is located on the second floor of the Auburn Medical Pavilion, and houses four operating rooms, four procedure rooms, 22 perioperative areas, and a central sterile reprocessing department. Our facility offers ultrasound and C-arm radiographic imaging for use during procedures, multiple surgical microscopes to assist physicians during certain surgeries, and new video equipment for use during minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic procedures.
