Heather McDonald
Heather McDonald recently received care at the Infusion Center of East Alabama. Below is her story:
I grew up on Lake Martin, but now live in Auburn. I have lived here for twelve years, and I have two children. I have lupus, and about five years ago, I was also diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
In the past, I sought treatment from both UAB and hospitals in Atlanta, and I can say, after experiencing care at multiple places, I am most comfortable with my treatment here at East Alabama Medical Center. It has now been six years since I first began receiving treatment, and it has been great.
The experience I have had here in the Infusion Center is very personal. I have gotten to know all the nurses here, learned about their families, and told them about mine. I am always greeted by my first name when I walk in the door. It is phenomenal. I never need to ask for anything while I am there because the staff is always very attentive to what I may need.
I look forward to coming in each time for my infusions because I know I will not only get a friendly greeting, but I will be asked about how my children are doing, how my job is going, and about my life in general. They not only ask, but they also care about how things in my life are going.
I would recommend that anyone in need of infusion services comes to the Infusion Center at East Alabama Medical Center. The treatment and care you receive, as well as the personal relationships you form, can’t be found anywhere else.
