About Me
Andrew Wilkins, D.O. is a member of the team at Emergency Medicine South (EmSouth) and practices in the Emergency Departments at both East Alabama Medical Center and EAMC-Lanier.
Dr. Wilkins earned his undergraduate degree at Auburn University and earned his medical degree at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Auburn (VCOM-Auburn). He completed his residency at St. Vincent’s East in Birmingham, where he was chosen as chief resident. He is board certified in family medicine.
Dr. Wilkins enjoys emergency medicine because it allows him to practice a wide scope of medicine with a variety of patients in high acuity situations. Originally from Smiths Station, Ala., Dr. Wilkins chose to stay in Lee County to raise his family.
He and his wife, Tayler, have a daughter, River James, with another daughter arriving in the fall. When he is not spending time with his family, Dr. Wilkins enjoys fishing and mountain biking.
