Partnership with the Auburn Tigers
Our commitment to keeping our community safe goes beyond the sidelines.
As the official first aid provider of the Auburn Tigers, East Alabama Health stands ready to meet any health needs that arise, allowing fans and families to enjoy the excitement of game day with peace of mind. Our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team provides medical coverage at about 360 on-campus events per year at Auburn University. This includes around 50 employees and four ambulances per home football game.
Keeping the Auburn Family Safe on Game Day
During home football games, emergency medical coverage includes every level inside Jordan Hare Stadium and extends to roaming coverage on both bicycles and four-wheelers outside the stadium. During football season, around 50 employees and four ambulances are on-site to provide medical attention for fans and visitors. At the other sports, 1-2 EMTs provide medical coverage from the time gates open until fans depart after the games.
In addition to athletic events, EMT and ambulance coverage is also present at graduations, concerts, social gatherings, etc.
East Alabama Health's "Tiger Tots" Program
East Alabama Health is partnering with Auburn Athletics to offer every baby born at East Alabama Medical Center (EAMC) a keepsake “Tiger Tots” blanket that features both the Aubie logo and the East Alabama Health logo. The Tiger Tots blanket will be included in a gift bag that new moms receive when delivering at EAMC. It includes essentials provided by EAMC’s Childbirth Services that new moms and babies need in the days and weeks following delivery.
The gift bag will include items provided by members of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce and/or the Opelika Chamber of Commerce. Parents will also receive a brochure from the College Counts 529 program so they can begin financial planning for college.
Chamber businesses interested in including items in the gift bag for moms and babies—such as promo items, gift cards, coupons, vouchers—should contact Mackenzie Poole with the Opelika Chamber of Commerce (mackenzie@opelikachamber.com), or Stephanie Calhoun (stephanie@auburnchamber.com) with the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. Items provided are subject to approval by East Alabama Health officials.
