Lauren Dusek, M.D.
Lauren Dusek, M.D. recently joined the team at Valley Area Primary Care. Dr. Dusek earned her medical degree from the University of South Alabama and completed her residency at Floyd Family Medicine in Rome, Ga.
Dr. Dusek decided to pursue a career in medicine after completing three years of physics at Auburn University. She was taking an anatomy class as an elective when she realized she loved learning about
how the human body works.
Dr. Dusek chose family medicine specifically because it is a field that allows her to take care of the whole patient. She enjoys getting to know her patients on a personal level and helping them become as healthy as they can be. Some of her medical interests include social determinants of health, diabetes management, and weight management.
Dr. Dusek has been married to her husband, Zac, for almost two years. They have a newborn daughter named Ali Katherine. In her spare time, Dr. Dusek enjoys hiking, caving, playing bass guitar, and cosplaying at DragonCon in Atlanta, Ga.
