Ibrahim Askar, M.D.

Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Askar attended the University of South Carolina where he earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering. He remained in Columbia to complete his medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia. He then completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) where he was chosen as chief resident.

Drawn to psychiatry for the humanistic aspects, Dr. Askar enjoys interacting with his patients and helping them improve and regain control of their lives. His medical interests include psychopharmacology, obsessive compulsive disorder, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders.
In his spare time, Dr. Askar enjoys cooking, mountain biking, hiking, jiu jitsu, bouldering, and Excel spreadsheets.

Caitlin Spivey, D.O.

Dr. Spivey is originally from Newtown, Pennsylvania and earned her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Alabama. She attended medical school at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Auburn where she was able to work with the physicians at Lee OB/GYN during her third-year medical school rotations. After completing her obstetrics and gynecology residency with the University of Kentucky in Bowling Green, Dr. Spivey decided to return to the Auburn/Opelika area to join Lee OB/GYN.

Dr. Spivey’s medical interests include gynecologic surgery and postpartum depression.
Dr. Spivey and her husband, Joshua, have one daughter, Avery. When she is not working, Dr. Spivey enjoys watching Auburn sports, trying new restaurants, working out, and spending time with her family and friends.

Marina Tipold, D.O.

Marina Tipold, D.O. is a pediatrician at the Pediatric Clinic, LLC.

Originally from Hobart, Indiana, Dr. Tipold earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Butler University. She went on to attend medical school at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Auburn. After finishing her residency in pediatrics at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, she decided to return to the Auburn/Opelika area to join the Pediatric Clinic. Dr. Tipold enjoys the unique continuity of care that pediatrics offers, as she has the opportunity to see patients from the day they are born until they grow into young adults.

In her spare time, Dr. Tipold enjoys cycling, reading, and walking her goldendoodle, Hobbes.
