Staff Recognition
The DAISY Award
The DAISY Award allows colleagues, patients and patients' families to recognize exceptional nurses and show their appreciation for the important difference they make each day.
The DAISY Foundation was formed in 1999, by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at age 33 due to complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). The nursing care Patrick received during his hospitalization truly touched his family because of their experience, they decided they wanted to create an award to honor nurses, who provide extraordinary, compassionate care.
If you have an East Alabama Health nurse that you would like to nominate for a DAISY Award, please click here to submit your nomination.
Thank an East Alabama Health Employee or Department With a Gift in Honor
Through the EAMC Foundation, patients and their loved ones have the ability to make a donation in honor of specific caregiver(s) or in gratitude of the care they or their loved one received while at an East Alabama Health facility.
East Alabama Health employees recognized with a contribution in their honor will receive recognition from their supervisor and peers, and you can designate your gift to the floor, department, or program where you received outstanding care. Those wishing to make a gift in honor have the ability to choose where their gift will go, either to a specific department or program, or to the area where there is the greatest need.
Gifts can be made online using the link below or can be mailed as a check to the EAMC Foundation at 2000 Pepperell Parkway, Opelika, AL 36801.
