Christopher Old, M.D.

Christopher W. Old, M.D., FACP is an internal medicine physician specializing in nephrology at EAMC. Dr. Old earned his medical degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) where he graduated cum laude. He completed his fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and his residency at UAB Hospital and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. 

He is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology. Prior to joining EAMC, Dr. Old served as resident faculty at Brookwood Baptist Health, and he worked as a nephrologist in Birmingham. Dr. Old has received several teaching awards for his work.

Dr. Old decided to pursue a career in internal medicine as well as resident education because he enjoys teaching medical students and residents. He chose to join the team at EAMC to be part of the new internal medicine residency program here.

Originally from Atlanta, Dr. Old and his wife, Debbie, have five children, five grandchildren, and one cat named Summer. In his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing, sporting clays, reading, and gardening.
