Endoscopy is a minimally invasive, diagnostic medical procedure that is used to examine the inside of an organ in the body. This includes the esophagus, stomach and colon. Using a piece of equipment known as an endoscope, a physician can directly look at specific areas to better evaluate or to detect problems.

The East Alabama Health Endoscopy Department performs approximately 40 procedures a day. Our four procedure rooms house state-of-the-art equipment. Our medical staff includes seven endoscopists, and a clinical staff made of critical care nurses. Our team of highly-skilled anesthesiologists work hand in hand with our endoscopists and clinical staff to ensure the safety and comfort of our patients during any procedures. The Endoscopy Department is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to all patients.
