Infusion Therapy

Thanks to modern advancements in infusion therapy, patients with serious illnesses can be successfully treated intravenously (into the vein) or subcutaneously (under the skin). When a patient’s condition is so severe that he or she cannot take oral medications or treatment of the disease requires an alternate approach, infusion therapy is a safe and effective way to treat many diseases.

What is Infusion Therapy?

With infusion therapy, medication is administered using a sterile catheter inserted straight into a vein and secured. In this way, the drug is delivered intravenously. Medications may also be infused through other non-oral routes, such as intramuscular injections and subcutaneous injections.
