Laboratory Services

We have two off-site collection areas operated by the Lab Outreach Department at East Alabama Health: Lab Outreach at the Auburn Medical Pavilion, and Lab Outreach at Building 22. They process the majority of lab orders from physicians without having to send them off to other labs. Currently they serve the majority of physician practices in Auburn, Opelika, and the surrounding areas. No appointment is needed at either location.

The Laboratory at East Alabama Health is state-of-the-art, offering a broad test menu and rapid turnaround times for specimen processing and result reporting. The lab is divided into the following sub-sections: Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Microbiology. Highly trained and highly skilled medical laboratory scientists perform the testing. 

*For pre-surgery lab work, the surgeon must first order the lab work. Once ordered by the surgeon, the lab work is performed at the Pre-Surgery Clinic at Building 17.
