Patients can often get treatment for their cataracts with a prescription for glasses or contact lenses during the early stages of a cataracts. For cataracts that severely impacts vision, a doctor might recommend surgery.

The only way to correct a cataract is to undergo surgery. Cataracts surgery is one of the most commonly performed eye surgeries and it takes around an hour to complete. Patients often do not have to be sedated for it.
