The Christmas Ball

The EAMC Foundation Christmas Ball will once again kick off the holiday season. The evening begins with a holiday reception, a seated dinner, a live auction, and dancing by the band, Creativity. The 2024 Christmas Ball’s proceeds will benefit the expansion of East Alabama Health's Mental Health Services.
Did you know?
- 1 in 5 Alabamians experience a mental health episode. However, this year 62% of Alabamians with mental health conditions will not receive treatment.
- Since 1955, the number of state-funded psychiatric beds in Alabama has declined by 97%.
- Since 2006, Emergency Department visits in Alabama related to behavioral health have risen by 44%.
- In the past year, East Alabama Health psychiatrists have seen a 44% increase in the number of Auburn University students they treat on campus at the AU Student Counseling and Psychological Services Center. This coming year, they are projected to see almost 6,000 students.
This growing need for mental health services far outpaces East Alabama Health’s ability to provide care and services for patients within our current facilities. To meet these needs, East Alabama Health is expanding our mental health services and building a free-standing Center for Mental Health on our campus near the Spencer Cancer Center and Pinnacle Cardiovascular Associates.
