Acts of Kindness Campaign 2023-2024

The 2023-2024 Acts of Kindness Campaign gives East Alabama Health employees the opportunity to support fellow employees through Cornerstone and help our patients through Healthcare Workers Reaching Out (HERO).

Cornerstone

Cornerstone is a program that aids East Alabama Health employees who are in a financial crisis, grants down payments to qualifying employees, and supports disaster relief both locally and regionally.

HERO

Funds raised for HERO support our:

  • CPAP Assistance Fund - helps patients get testing and CPAP equipment they need
  • Psychiatry Fund - provides clothing, shoes, and hygiene items for adolescents in DHR custody with few possessions
  • Diabetes and Nutrition Center - allows patients without health insurance to visit our endocrinologist; sends 8-10 children with diabetes to Camp Seale Harris
  • Outpatient Cardiac Rehab Program - provides funding for patients who have had a cardiac event and cannot attend Cardiac Rehab without financial help
  • NICU and Pediatric Patient and Family Assistance Fund - provides funding for our child life specialists program, car seats, pack-n-plays, clothing, and breast pumps for qualifying families of critically ill newborns and children
  • Patient Crisis Fund - helps patients and families in crisis situations, including lodging, transportation, food, and lumber for wheelchair ramps
  • Transition Fund - assists patients with barriers to discharge; provides medical equipment such as oxygen, CPAP, or Autopap devices for patients who do not have the funding or insurance to purchase, as well as discharge transportation, medicine, or temporary housing
