Pathways to Advancement (P2A)
East Alabama Health offers Pathways-to-Advancement (previously School-at-Work, or SAW) to employees with one year of service or more. Pathways-to-Advancement is a program that helps you invest in YOU! 
  • It is a 10-month program requiring two hours of on-the-clock class time per week. 
  • The program offers a wide variety of educational modules from communication skills, to math, to medical terminology.  
  • The program is designed to help employees prepare to continue their education, improve communication skills, and advance in their career.  
  • If you wish to develop and further your career in healthcare, P2A may be for you!

FAQ

When does the P2A program start?

The P2A classes start in September and graduation is in June. P2A classes are held each Tuesday at the Valley campus and each Wednesday at the Opelika campus. All classes are held from 2 - 4 p.m.

Are employees paid to attend class?

When attending P2A classes, students are on the clock. Employees clock to workforce development while in class and clock back to their department after class.  

Are there test/exams in SAW?

There is a pre-assessment at the beginning of the P2A program year and a post-assessment at the end of the year along with an assessment test after each module.
