Tuition Reimbursement

The East Alabama Health tuition reimbursement program is designed to further develop East Alabama Health employees in their careers while helping with the cost of college tuition. Reimbursement is processed through the payroll process for taxes to be withheld. The tuition reimbursement program does not disqualify you from applying for the Scholarship Loan Program, and there is no limit on the number of times that you may apply as long as the total reimbursement does not exceed $10,000 per fiscal year for full-time employees and $5,000 for part-time employees. Summary of Tuition Reimbursement Guidelines

  • Reimbursement is calculated based on whether employee is full or part-time. 
  • Tuition reimbursement for full-time employees is limited to $10,000 – tuition and required fees (books excluded)
  • Tuition reimbursement for part-time employees is limited to $5,000 – tuition and required fees (books excluded)
  • Reimbursement Application due first Friday in November, April, and June
  • Reimbursement Request and official copy of grade are due May 31, August 31, and December 31
  • Reimbursement Levels: A = 100%; B = 75%; C = 50%
  • Income taxes are taken out of reimbursement checks
  • HR will be contacted regarding any disciplinary actions within the past twelve months
